- Other suggestions were made to be added to the draft submission

Action: Kim to add comments to the submission; submission to be forwarded to Debs to add Living Streets Aotearoa logo and send in to WCC (as well as Robert to put on the website)
2. Regional Land Transport Strategy
- Living Street Wellington’s submission had a strong emphasis on public transport and the strategy was re-written to reflect these needs.
- Alongside the strategy a Regional Land Transport Programme was written (ie. Implementation plan).
- However the programme has not been changed to reflect the re-written strategy
- A discussion took place in which it was agreed that the strategy should be accepted but that the programme should be rejected in its current form. A new programme will be requested that accurately reflects the statements made in the strategy and that will implement this strategy.
3. Travel Plans
- These are being produced by Greater Wellington Regional Council via funding through Land Transport NZ
- There may be an issue with insufficient funding to cover the required infrastructure that would remove the barriers faced by people who currently do not walk/cycle/car pool etc.
4. Charles Zeeger
- Charles is visiting NZ as part of Beca’s contract in delivering walking and cycling projects in line with the NZ Walking and Cycling Strategy (‘Getting There - On Foot, By Cycle’)
- Charles is available to speak to Living Streets Wellington members and others on Wednesday 11th July.
- A suggestion was made that perhaps Charles and others could take a trip to Johnsonville via the train and look at the town centre area, then have an informal presentation
Chris to send out details to Option3 and the Civic Trust email networks
Rutherford House and the Railway Station Lecture Theatre suggested as possible venues for the lecture – Ralph to be contacted by Celia?

Action: Mike to follow this up and invite Wayne Tacon (Manager, Property and Parking Services) and appropriate representatives from the Wellington Parking and Infringement Services to the August Living Streets Wellington meeting
