We are very pleased with the number of applications received for such varied and interesting projects this year. Funding has been allocated to 53 walking and cycling projects across the country. Twenty-one of these projects actively promote walking, twenty for cycling and twelve are a combination. Funded projects include Walk2Work days, cycling skills courses, school challenges, commuter challenges, map projects, and trail projects.

The deadline for applications was 17th of October 2008.

The Walking and Cycling Micro-Fund is run jointly by Living Streets Aotearoa and Cycling Advocates’ Network.  The Fund provides opportunities for organisations to apply for funding of up to $1000 towards events, promotions and initiatives which promote walking and cycling as a transport option for short trips. The New Zealand Transport Agency provides the funding.
