Yes, but these existing routes are both inadequate and dangerous

better for one mode than the other. Both are poorly signposted, walking
almost non existent

pedestrians or (b) cyclists can?t use? Yes

We have a responsibility to address all existing barriers

you do to facilitate them? Please elaborate
12. What other techniques could you suggest to improve walking and cycling as
a regular activity? Local government and agencies need to be more proactive

whose objectives include walking and cycling as a means of transport and better
health ? we all need to support more facilities and spaces dedicated for
specific purposes being provided for by councils at realistic rates affordable
to the public.

http://www.livingstreets.org.nz/ICharter.htm
Yes
16. Do you cycle and/or walk regularly? We recognize of course that many
people who do not remain supportive of our aims to increase rates of both. I
am not sure what you are saying here. I do walk regularly and still coach
children in sports (swimming and triathlon). Please keep me informed and on your
mailing lists whether I succeed in this candidate adventure or not. Basically I
am standing because I cannot convince existing governments nor councillors that
what you people and I aspire for are important.
If we can activate our elderly and keep them out of hospital care longer,
activate our children and youth and reduce lawlessness which is overtaking our
society in alarming rates, then we have saved more than we need to to justify
our aims and visions of better health, occupied lifestyles, and a safer and
longer wellbeing.
