Pedestrian and Cyclist Road Safety Framework

This Pedestrian and Cyclist Road Safety Framework (Framework) outlines a comprehensive approach for effectively reducing risks to, and improving safety for, pedestrians and cyclists. The Framework will: guide the work of government agencies, ensuring a co-ordinated national approach to improving road safety for pedestrians and cyclists; support alignment of national, regional and local efforts to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists with the approach and the broader objectives of Getting There; provide guidance, in association with Getting There for support for road controlling authorities (RCAs) who are responsible for improving access and safety for pedestrians and cyclists in their road environment; and support the effective integration of safety into walking and cycling promotion efforts.
