7. Enhance our walking and cycle facilities and linkages. This project includes formation of a sealed track along the top of the stopbank from Moonshine to past Gibbons St, provision of signage and development of a walking/cycling path within the railway corridor from Silverstream to Upper Hutt.  Council contribution: $1.1million.

14. Ongoing implementation of the Active Recreation Plan – Activation.  This is aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of Upper Hutt people via increasing participation in clubs, events, and established recreational facilities.  Cost: $150,000 p.a. for minimum of 5yrs.

23. Develop segments of a cycleway and pedestrian walkway alongside Fergusson Dr to complete a trail from Silverstream Railway Station through to the Hutt River Trail at Silverstream Bridge.  Council contribution: $126,000.

28. Construction of an access way between the Totara Park Bridge footpath and the Hutt River Trail.  Cost: $22,000.
