The NZ Transport Agency wishes to support local authorities throughout New Zealand in achieving increased levels of walking and cycling activity. In meeting this goal, it is exploring mechanisms to identify and share best practice in service delivery across local authority policy and strategy determination, infrastructure programming and delivery, promotion and road safety related programmes.

The City of Glen Eira is located in Melbourne's south-east suburbs, about 7 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.
It encompasses a total land area of about 38 square kilometres and is an established residential area that is continuing to attract housing development.

Martin is Principal Transport Planner for Colin Buchanan consultancy.  His work covers a broad range of policy, research and design experience.  He has worked with professionals from a variety of disciplines to develop more holistic transport appraisal methods encompassing the wider economic, health, and environmental impacts of sustainable transport measures.
