Notice of Annual General Meeting 2009

You are invited to attend the AGM of Living Streets Aotearoa Incorporated to be held: Saturday 25th July 2009, 5.30pm

at St John’s Church Hall, 170 Willis Street, Wellington (corner of Willis and Dixon Streets, behind the church)

The AGM is open to all members and interested people, whether or not they are attending the workshop at the same venue.
 

The Agenda for the AGM will be:
 
1.      Welcome
2.      Apologies
3.      Minutes of Annual General Meeting on 4th August 2008
4.      Matters Arising
5.      President’s report
6.      Financial report
7.      Election of Executive Council (President, Vice-President, National Secretary, National Treasurer, and up to five other members)
8.      Appointment of auditor
9.      Changes to the constitutionas outlined below
10.     Any other business
 

Written expressions of interest for designated positions on the Executive Council or for general Executive Council positions are invited, particularly from those people who wish to stand, but are not able to attend the AGM.  Please send a short profile, including reasons for wishing to be on the Executive Council, to gay.richards at livingstreets.org.nz no later than 17 July 2009. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the meeting.

Change to Constitution: Resolution to be voted on:

That Clause 12.1 of the Constitution be amended by removing “up to five” and adding “The named positions may each be shared by more than one individual, and the membership of the Executive Council shall not exceed ten individuals.” to read:

“The Executive Council shall comprise the President, the Vice-President, the National Secretary, the National Treasurer and other members elected at the Annual General Meeting to carry out the aims and powers of the Society. The named positions may each be shared by more than one individual, and the membership of the Executive Council shall not exceed ten individuals.”

Explanation:

Clause 12.1 currently reads: “The Executive Council shall comprise the President, the Vice-President, the National Secretary, the National Treasurer and up to five other members elected at the Annual General Meeting to carry out the aims and powers of the Society.”

The intended effect is to enable sharing of the named Executive positions.
