Over 1500 Safer Journeys submissions

Transport Minister Steven Joyce has released a summary of the more than 1,500 submissions received as part of a wide-ranging review of road safety.   The summary of submissions is available at www.saferjourneys.govt.nz

The executive summary notes that lowering the legal alcohol limit, raising the driving age and changing the give way rule received strong support.  Comments on the document also included raising walking and cycling to high priority, and improving walking and cycling infrastructure.
