Who We Are

New Plymouth Walking Advocacy Group (WAG) is a volunteer group formed in June 2010 that advocates for the development, enhancment and maintenance of walking friendly infrastructure and culture.

OUR VISION: More people walking more often!

OUR MISSION

  • To promote the concept of "Living Streets," where alking is the preferred form of transport for short trips within 3 kms of our destination;

  • To reclaim the streets for people rather than cars; to provide a voice for walkers at policy level and ensure than pedestrians are considered in any current and future urban development plans and initiatives;
  • To support other groups that encourage sustainable transport, including the use of public transport
