New directions for bicycle and pedestrian planning education in the US

In the US the predominant transportation is the automobile. However, this dependence has resulted in un-balanced land use developments that increasingly support urban sprawl, cause traffic congestion, air pollution, and threaten the safety of the most unprotected users of urban environments, pedestrians.
