DOC Information: Hawke's Bay Tracks

Hawke's Bay is a region of unique and exciting recreation opportunities. Situated on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island, Hawke's Bay extends from high altitude ranges on the western boundary to beautiful beaches and lagoons on the eastern coastline. Popular recreational day activities include walking tracks such as the Te Puia and Sunrise Hut Tracks or a trip to the White Pine Bush Scenic Reserve. Trips can be made to the Cape Kidnappers gannet colony either on foot, or by commercial vehicle. Longer and more challenging tramps can be made in the Kaweka and Ruahine Forest Parks.
