On the 10th of March 2010, thousands of people across New Zealand will leave their cars at home and Walk2Work with friends, family and colleagues. Workers are invited to call in to their local Walk2Work event between 7-9am, to register, collect their complimentary breakfast snack, be inspired by local speakers, and win spot prizes.
Registrations are now open for people wanting to take part in the Summer Steps challenge. This is a trial competition for people in Wellington and Christchurch. So if you are working in one of these areas, go to the summer steps page and register your team.

Summer Steps Challenge
Welcome to our new fun team challenge, encouraging people to get out and about and try walking as a way of getting around.
You are challenged to organise a team from your workplace and compete against other teams, to see who can spend the most time walking.
Living Streets Aotearoa is the New Zealand organisation for people on foot, promoting walking-friendly communities. We are a nationwide organisation with local branches and affiliates throughout New Zealand.
We want more people walking and enjoying public spaces be they young or old, fast or slow, whether walking, sitting, commuting, shopping, between appointments, or out on the streets for exercise, for leisure or for pleasure.
